چکیده

We study a gas of dipolar bosons confined in a two-dimensional optical lattice. Dipoles are considered to point freely in both up and down directions perpendicular to the lattice plane. This results in a nearest-neighbor repulsive (attractive) interaction for aligned (anti-aligned) dipoles. We find regions of parameters where the ground state of the system exhibits insulating phases with ferromagnetic or anti-ferromagnetic ordering, as well as with rational values of the average magnetization. Evidence for the existence of a novel counterflow supersolid quantum phase is also presented. 4 Author to whom any correspondence should be addressed. Dynamical creation of a supersolid in asymmetric mixtures of bosons.

We propose a scheme to dynamically create a supersolid state in an optical lattice, using an attractive mixture of mass-imbalanced bosons. Starting from a "molecular" quantum crystal, supersolidity is induced dynamically as an out-of-equilibrium state. When neighboring molecular wave functions overlap, both bosonic species simultaneously exhibit quasicondensation and long-range solid order, whi...

Statistical transmutation in doped quantum dimer models.

We prove a "statistical transmutation" symmetry of doped quantum dimer models on the square, triangular, and kagome lattices: the energy spectrum is invariant under a simultaneous change of statistics (i.e., bosonic into fermionic or vice versa) of the holes and of the signs of all the dimer resonance loops. This exact transformation enables us to define the duality equivalence between doped qu...

Quantum Hall to insulator transition in the bilayer quantum Hall ferromagnet.

We describe a phase transition of the bilayer quantum Hall ferromagnet at nu=1. In the presence of static disorder (modeled by a periodic potential), bosonic S=1/2 spinons undergo a superfluid-insulator transition while preserving ferromagnetism. The Mott insulating phase has an emergent U(1) photon, and the transition is between Higgs and Coulomb phases of this photon. Consequences for charge ...

Dark Matter and Supersolidity

The recet experiments on supersolidity sheds new light on the issue of Dark matter and the missing mass. The origin of collisionless cold dark matter has been traced back to its origin to the supersolid model of quantum vacuum.

Dynamics of entangled quantum optical system in independent media

We study the dynamics of two three-level atoms interacting with independent bosonic Lorentzian reservoirs at zero temperature. Such systems can be created in far astronomical objects. Quantum mechanical behaviour of these particles can produce detectable effects on the spectroscopic identifications of these objects, if such behaviour remain stable during the interaction with their media. It is ...
